Cross Country is one of the fall sports on the bench for this year
The tough decision to cancel fall sports for all Saskatoon high schools was recently announced.
Announcement from SSSAD:
The health and safety of the student-athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers involved in SSSAD athletics is paramount. With that in mind, in working with senior leadership from Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools and Saskatoon Public Schools, the SSSAD has made the difficult decision that the following extracurricular sports will not be offered in Saskatoon high schools this fall:
- Cross Country
- Football
- Soccer
- Volleyball
We continue to take guidance from the Chief Medical Health Officer, our boards of education, and senior leadership. It is the hope of the SSSAD that we will be able to provide sport opportunities for our student athletes and school communities once we are safely able to do so.
